On 20 January 2016, ECHA launched a completely new way of finding out about the chemicals we use in Europe. Information on up to 120 000 chemicals is structured in 3 layers: the simple infocard, the more detailed brief profile and the full source data – each designed for audiences with different levels of knowledge. The infocard, the simplest level, gives information on the hazards of chemicals in plain English. ECHA’s database is one of the biggest regulatory databases on chemicals in the world.
